What will not be published
- Current crisis disclosures, goodbye messages, or requests for emergency help
- Suicide or self-harm method details, instructions, images, or graphic descriptions
- Content encouraging death, self-harm, secrecy, hopelessness, blame, shame, or romanticization
- Names, contact details, schools, workplaces, locations, social-media handles, links, or other identifying information
- Bullying, harassment, threats, hate speech, solicitation, fundraising, spam, diagnosis, medical advice, or medication instructions
- Another person’s story or private information without appropriate authorization
How moderation works
Every submission enters a private moderation queue. Nothing is published automatically. An authorized moderator may approve, decline, retain briefly for moderation, or remove a message. Publication is not guaranteed, and Leah Matters does not promise a personal response.
Editing and attribution
The form offers only general signatures such as Anonymous, A friend, A parent, A survivor, or A supporter. Leah Matters may remove identifying details before publication but will not rewrite a message into a different story. A message that requires substantial editing will be declined.
Young people and privacy
Do not provide your age, full name, school, team, neighborhood, address, phone number, email, username, or another young person’s information. The board has no private messaging, replies, likes, follower counts, or public profiles.
Crisis and escalation boundary
The board is not monitored continuously and cannot assess safety, locate a visitor, dispatch help, or provide counseling. When a submission appears to describe immediate danger, the form directs the visitor to immediate support and does not treat the submission as a request the organization can answer. In the United States, call or text 988; contact emergency services for immediate physical danger, an active attempt, or urgent medical need.
Removal and corrections
A published message may be removed when a privacy concern, safety concern, error, rights issue, or guideline violation is discovered. Use the contact page to request review, but do not include private medical records or graphic details.
